Dr. Rachel Kohn's research focuses on improving the outcomes, efficiency of care, and patient flow of survivors of critical illness through the framework of ward capacity strain. She is a core faculty member of the Palliative and Advanced Illness Research (PAIR) Center.

After graduating from undergraduate and medical school at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Kohn completed her Internal Medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, and fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. During fellowship, she completed a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology.

In 2019, Dr. Kohn joined the faculty of the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania. She cares for patients on the pulmonary service and in the medical intensive care unit at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
