Biography

Dr. Catherine (Katie) Auriemma is a fellow in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Science of Health Policy Research and is an associate fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Brown University and her MD from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Katie completed internal medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco, where she subsequently served as chief resident at Moffitt-Long Hospital. She is interested in improving the value of adult critical care medicine by better aligning medical care with the values and preferences of patients and their families. She also seeks to optimize the cost-effectiveness of critical care interventions.

Katie lives in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood of Philadelphia. She enjoys running, board games, and going on hiking trips with her husband.
