Kuldeep Yadav’s research interests lie at the intersection of epidemiology, decision science, and critical care. As a member of the FIELDS Program and the PAIR Center, he has worked with multiple physician-investigators to identify the current prevalence of advance directives, examine intensivists’ psychological attributes that may lead to variation in patient care, and explore resident physicians’ understanding and use of decision heuristics and choice architecture in medical decision making. His research contributions have resulted notable journal publications and international conference presentations. He soon hopes to pursue a combined MD-PhD program with graduate research training in epidemiology or a related public health discipline.

He graduated from Rutgers University (09/2011-05/2015) with a Bachelors of Arts, triple majoring in Cell Biology & Neuroscience (CBN), Psychology, and Decision Making & Cognitive Neuroscience. He also acquired a Rutgers Civic Scholars Certificate. He concurrently completed two undergraduate honors theses in Psychology and CBN under Dr. Gretchen B. Chapman and Dr. Timothy A. Otto, respectively. He received competitive undergraduate research funding through intuitional and external awards (e.g., Rutgers’ Aresty Undergraduate Research Fellowships, Dorothy and David Cooper Undergraduate Research Fellowships, and Psi Chi Undergraduate Research Grant). He has been a New Jersey certified emergency medical technician (EMT) since 2009 and an American Heart Association accredited CPR/BLS instructor since 2014. Now an elected member for life, he previously served as an active EMT (2009-2016) and the deputy chief (2012-2016) of the first aid squad in his hometown of Jamesburg, NJ.

Kuldeep currently resides in West Philadelphia, PA. He dabbles in poetry and photography. He enjoys an eclectic taste in music, especially while running throughout University City.
