Biography

Jasmine Silvestri is a Clinical Research Coordinator at the PAIR Center, where she supports Dr. Weissman's mixed-methods project, identifying social factors and behaviors contributing to hospitalizations of patients with chronic lung disease. Jasmine comes to PAIR via the Penn Medicine BioBank after completing a Masters of Public Health here at Penn. While perusing an undergraduate degree at Temple she worked on health behavior research, eventually managing data collection for the CDC's Youth Risk Behavior Survey and School Health Profiles in the Philadelphia School District. During her time as a student at Penn she served on the Student Health Advisory Board (SHAB), led tobacco cessation focused projects at Campus Health, and worked with the CAPS assessment and outreach team on qualitative research to identify facilitators and barriers to accessing mindfulness programs on campus. As a Philly transplant, Jasmine has enjoyed living in and exploring neighborhoods all throughout the city. Her free time is filled with frequent trips home to the Pocono Mountain area, trying new restaurants, and an occasional museum or theater visit. Jasmine is also an organizational enthusiast who often lends friends and family a hand decluttering and reorganizing their closets.
