Jacob Martin, MD, MSCR is an internal medicine resident at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Penn-StARR physician-investigator training program sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. He received his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he participated in the Patient-Oriented Research Training and Leadership (PORTAL) program and completed a M.S. in Clinical Research. He completed his undergraduate degree in neuroscience at Vanderbilt University with highest honors in research. Dr. Martin’s research focuses on supporting health care delivery with clinical data to improve population health. His methodologic interests include approaches to structured and unstructured patient data such as machine learning and natural language processing.

Dr. Martin lives with his wife in Center City, Philadelphia. He enjoys watching live music, collecting vinyl records, hiking, and biking all over the city.
